The stormy weather has provided lots of excitement, and each class made Autumn Crowns in our Woodland Learning. Maple and Poplar please bring your wellies in on a Tuesday, Lime class will need theirs on Thursdays.
Lime Class had a very special treat when Alice's mum came into class with two original Quentin Blake paintings. The paintings belong to Alice's grandfather and had a very interesting story behind them.
In literacy this week LKS2 have been focusing on grammar. We have looked at adverbs and conjunctions - can the children spot any of these in their reading? In Big Write this week we wrote the story of Little Red Riding Hood, with a focus on good vocabulary.
In maths Lime class have been practising adding fractions. You could try cutting up a cake, chocolate bar or pizza and ask what the fraction of one slice is? How many slices would you need to add to make a whole?
We even went outside to do some fraction work with chalk and leaves.
ICT and Art
In ICT we have been researching Egyptian Gods, Isis was the most popular God in Lime Class. We have tried drawing some of the Gods.
"I found Osiris the hardest one to draw."
"I found it difficult to get all of the detail in."
"I spotted that some of the Gods have symbols in their hand."
Thanks for the update. Bit of a typo in the second paragraph!
